In health tourism the story is revenue per patient, not patient count

Turkey hosted 1.4 million foreign patients in 2025 and passed $3bn. The real headline in Q1 2026 is different: revenue per patient rose about 39%.

The numbers

Per the Turkish Exporters' Assembly service branch, 2025 brought 1,398,580 foreign patients and $3.02bn in revenue. Q1 2026 saw 302,487 international patients and $761.5m, with revenue per patient up about 39% year on year. Patients arrive from roughly 180 countries.

What it signals

Revenue per patient growing faster than patient count means the market is moving from price competition toward higher-value treatment. Ranking first for the cheapest procedure now buys you the least profitable demand.

What it means for you

Three things decide it: answering in the patient's language, replying the same day despite time zones, and answering package and process questions plainly. Track revenue per patient by treatment type, not headcount.
